3. How to Format a Long Quotes ?
- Introduce quotation with a signal phrase (just as you would for a short quotation).
- Instead of a comma, use a colon before the quotation.
- Indent the entire quotation 2" from the side of the page by dragging the ruler across the top while the text of the quotation is selected/highlighted.
- The entire quotation should be double spaced.
- Long quotations are not surrounded in quotation marks, so you can't use the QUO-PAR-PUNC rule. Instead, end the quotation with a period and follow the punctuation with the citation enclosed in parenthesis.
4. what is a works cited page ?
The works cited page should be the last page of your paper, and it lists identifying information, such as the publication date and location, for each of the sources that you cited in your paper. The sources are listed in alphabetical order by the author's last name.
